WISE AI, a major player in the artificial intelligence market, further strengthened its position in Thailand when several core members attended the opening of True Digital Park’s (TDPK) ‘Work Space’ last month.
WISE AI – the preferred facial recognition platform in ASEAN – is known for its face detection technology which is highly adaptable to various environments and is suitable for large-scale face detection, or even those that are partially seen, blurred out or changed expression.
Given Thailand’s demand and interest in facial recognition have grown tremendously in recent times, WISE AI co-founder and business director Justin Goh said it represents a key market for WISE AI.
“Recently, the Bangkok Post reported that the Thai government has given its approval to use e-KYC digital ID system based on facial recognition to facilitate online financial transactions and cybersecurity,” said Goh.
“Banks hope the legislation will allow them to rapidly grow their customer base through the Internet and mobile phones.
“In the public sector, the government has also planned to expand the usage to public areas such as airports, tourist spot, and other services provided by the government.
“This makes Thailand a key market,” Goh added.
Working closely with TDPK is also a wise move as it collaborates with government agencies, enterprises and global tech giants, including the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Google, AWS, Huawei, Ricoh, UOB, Wongnai, MuSpace, Thailand e-Center (TeC), CP Innovation and True Digital Academy.
With TDPK aiming to be Thailand’s first and Southeast Asia’s largest digital innovation hub, WISE AI is certainly rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of the industry. WISE AI works closely with TDPK as partners to support them in all activities and provide technology to businesses in need of FR technology.
WISE AI also provides the ‘Starface’ application in TDPK for interaction purposes but most impressively, will support and showcase WISE AI FR technology on the biggest start-up event in Bangkok from July 25-27.
Over 100 government VIPs, including the prime minister, will be attending on the first day. Over the course of three days, WISE AI expects up to 10,000 guests from the digital and start-up industry to visit start-up Thailand.
Meanwhile, WISE AI showcased some of its technology via the ‘Starface’ and ‘Age and Gender’ kiosks during the launch of ‘Work Space’.
For the record, ‘Work Space’ is a workplace and digital innovation development space in the most complete ecosystem for startups and tech entrepreneurs within True Digital Park. It is equipped with full-service facilities for meetings, workshops, town halls, events and lifestyle activities to enhance work life.
Starface or Celebrity Look-Alike application works when visitors use it to take a picture. The AI will then match the photographs with the visitors’ celebrity lookalike.
For the ‘Age and Gender’ application, artificial intelligence can analyse the age and the related information of people in videos. This function is widely used in the field of security, shopping malls and consumer analysis.
It is a fast, accurate and extensive human body recognition system based on deep neural networks.
Having made a splash during the launch of ‘Work Space’, WISE AI is confident of doing even better at Startup Thailand later this month.
With local offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, WISE AI has positioned itself as an industry leader in Southeast Asia and is a familiar face at technology events, conferences, and forums.
WISE AI’s core business includes face detection technology, face attribute estimation, face image retrieval, face comparison technology and detection of key facial attributes.
